The South Side is home for The Right Guyz. We’re based here, we work here every day, and a lot of our customers are our neighbors. When you call from the South Side, you’re calling a local, owner-run plumbing company, and the person who shows up is usually Tito himself.
South Side homes and the plumbing problems we see most
The South Side covers a lot of ground, from the older blocks around Roosevelt Avenue and Mission Road to the newer subdivisions past Loop 410. The plumbing in those homes can be very different.
In the older neighborhoods, many houses were built in the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s. They often still have galvanized steel water lines that rust from the inside, cast iron drains that scale up and crack, and clay sewer lines that tree roots love to get into. Some are pier-and-beam houses with plumbing in a crawl space, which makes certain repairs easier and others harder. Our sewer line repair and leak detection calls come heavily from these streets.
In the newer subdivisions farther south, the pipes are usually in good shape, but the water heaters installed by the builder are hitting the age where they start to fail. San Antonio’s hard water speeds that up. If your house went up in the 2000s and still has its original tank, it’s worth keeping an eye on. Our water heater replacement prices are posted, so you can plan ahead.
Across the whole South Side, the clay soil moves with every wet spell and dry summer. That movement stresses pipes under slabs and in yards, and it’s behind a lot of the slab leaks and broken sewer lines we fix.
Close to the missions, close to you
The South Side is where San Antonio’s history lives. The Mission Reach of the San Antonio River and the missions of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park are right in our backyard, along with Brooks, Stinson Municipal Airport and Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Being based nearby means we’re not driving across town to reach you, which matters when water is on the floor.
Bilingual service for South Side families
A lot of South Side families speak English and Spanish at home, and we do too. Tito explains the problem and your options in whichever language you’re most comfortable with, so everyone in the house understands what’s being fixed and what it costs.
