North Central San Antonio covers the neighborhoods in and around Loop 410 north of downtown, out toward San Antonio International Airport. It’s a part of town full of established family homes, apartments and small businesses, and The Right Guyz is glad to serve it any time of day or night.
Homes from the 1950s through the 1970s
A lot of North Central San Antonio was built in the decades after World War II, with rows of single-story ranch homes on slab foundations. Those houses have aged well, but much of the plumbing in them is original or close to it.
That shows up in a few predictable ways. Cast iron drain lines under the slab rust and scale on the inside, which leads to slow drains and backups. Water lines under the foundation can wear through as San Antonio’s clay soil shifts the slab, which is how slab leaks start. Mature trees, one of the best things about these neighborhoods, send roots into older sewer lines. And water heaters that have already been replaced once or twice are due again.
Pressure, leaks and the little things
Water pressure in parts of the city runs high, and a worn-out pressure reducing valve lets that pressure straight into the house. If you’ve noticed banging pipes, a dripping water heater relief valve or toilets that keep running, it’s worth a quick pressure check. Our posted prices for PRV replacement start at $800.
When a sewer line is the problem, we start with a camera so you can see what’s wrong before anyone talks about digging.
