Some drains clog, get cleared, and then clog again a few weeks later. That usually means the pipe itself is lined with grease, scale or sludge, and a standard drain cable only punches a hole through the middle. Hydro-jetting cleans the whole inside of the pipe, wall to wall, with high-pressure water.
The Right Guyz uses a trailer-mounted jetter, like the one pictured above, for main sewer lines and larger drains. It’s one of the most effective ways to get a stubborn line back to full flow.
When hydro-jetting is the right call
- Kitchen lines that keep clogging with grease
- Main sewer lines with heavy buildup or root intrusion
- Old cast iron lines with rust and scale narrowing the pipe
- Restaurant, apartment and commercial drain lines
- Cleaning a line before a camera inspection so the picture is clear
- Preventive cleaning for businesses with a lot of grease
How it works
A hydro-jetter pumps water at high pressure through a special hose and nozzle. The nozzle has jets pointing backward, which pull the hose forward through the pipe, and sometimes a jet pointing forward to break through blockages. As the hose moves, the water scrubs the pipe walls clean and flushes everything downstream.
Because it can be too much for pipe that’s already badly damaged, we often run a sewer camera through the line first. That tells us whether jetting is safe and whether there’s a bigger problem, like a broken section, that jetting won’t fix.
Hydro-jetting for businesses
Restaurants, taquerias, apartment complexes and other businesses put a lot of grease and solids down their drains. Regular jetting keeps those lines flowing and prevents the kind of backup that shuts a kitchen down in the middle of the lunch rush. We offer commercial plumbing service, including scheduled maintenance.
Honest about what jetting can and can’t do
Jetting is a great cleaning tool, but it doesn’t fix broken pipe. If roots keep coming back through the same cracked joint, or the line has a belly where waste settles, we’ll show you on camera and talk through a sewer line repair. You decide what makes sense, with a clear price in front of you.
