A lot of Leon Valley’s homes were built from the 1960s through the 1980s on slab foundations. Decades of San Antonio’s clay soil shifting under those slabs can crack water and drain lines, which is how slab leaks start. Original water heaters have mostly been replaced by now, but many of the replacements are due again, and older drain lines clog more as they age.
